¿QUÉ SIGNIFICA LA EXPRESIÓN "VETE A LA CONCHINCHINA"?

Antiguamente, los franceses conquistaron Vietnam y Camboya con la ayuda de España, le llamaron “La Conchinchine” pero por supuesto, los españoles le cambiamos el nombre a Conchinchina. La expresión de “estar en la Conchinchina” nos referimos cuando algo está muy lejos pero muy pocos saben que también es un instrumento bodeguero. La conchinchina es un instrumento en forma de casa de pájaro de madera con una vela en el medio. La copa de vino se coloca dentro con la vela encendida para ver la pureza, claridad y color del vino, en definitiva, su evolución visual. Era necesario irse a la zona más oscura y lejana de la bodega para ver esas características, por eso se le llamó Conchinchina.

The conchinchina is an instrument in the shape of a wooden bird house with a candle in the middle. The wine glass is placed inside with the candle lighted to see the purity, brightness and colour, definitely, its visual evolution. It was necessary to go to the darkest and farthest area in the winery to see these characteristics, that was the reason why they called the Conchinchina.
