¿QUÉ ES UN DAMAJUANA? 

Un damajuana es un recipiente de vidrio con una barriga gorda y una boca estrecha que se utilizaba antiguamente para almacenar y transportar el vino. Lo curioso es el nombre, todo surgió en Italia. La reina Juana I de Nápoles, debido a una tormenta, se refugió sin querer en un taller de un hombre que fabricaba vidrio. Allí se interesó tanto por ese oficio que quiso intentar hacer su propia botella. Al soplar tan fuerte, consiguió que la botella se hiciera con esa forma tan barriguda siendo de 10 litros de capacidad. El hombre dueño del taller le gustó, le puso a ese tipo de recipiente el nombre de Damajuana en honor a la reina e incluso fabricó muchas más como esa.

A ‘demijohn’ is a glass recipient with a fat body and a narrow neck that was used to store and transport the wine in the past. The name is interesting, everything came up in Italy.
