LAS BODEGAS CATEDRALES


Las bodegas jerezanas se llaman bodegas catedrales y su nombre hace referencia al tipo de edificio. Están construidos con techos a dos aguas muy altos para conservar la temperatura baja, ya que cuando sus suelos están llenos de tierra de albero se riegan para mantener la temperatura y la humedad, el calor sube hacia arriba. Por esta razón, se deben construir orientadas a los vientos más frescos de la zona y con ventanales abiertos para que circule el aire.

Jerez wineries are called ‘cathedrals’ and the name refers to the type of building.
